Happy Easter 2021

Bike 4 Cancer - About Us

Set up by a team of cycling enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Bike 4 Cancer provides days respite breaks for British families affected by cancer.

We also make grants to UK based care institutions and fund research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. cycling) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.

A very Happy Easter to all our supporters. We hope you have an excellent long weekend after what has been a very difficult 12 months for all of us!

AND what's more, this Easter weekend presents the perfect opportunity to get out on your bike. Staying active is an extremely important part of reducing your risk of developing cancer.

New guidelines suggest that we should be doing 150 minutes of moderate exercise every week. You can divide this up however you like, so that could be just 20 minutes a day or 30 minutes five days a week.

AND as of 29 March 2021, the Government will relax restrictions for people meeting outside - two households will be able to meet outdoors.

Further still, Sport England's guidance confirms that organised sport including group cycle rides are possible from 29 March onwards. So this means that groups of more than six people can meet for a sporting purpose under the organised sport and activity exemption.

So it's time to get your peloton back together and get back out on your bikes! Please remember to stay safe though - these are guidelines and not a target!
